Italian Meatballs

July 26, 2015

My family loves spaghetti and meatballs. If you have meatballs already made in your freezer, then you can make dinner quickly any weeknight. The meatballs can be added to your favorite marinara sauce for serving with pasta or placed on a hoagie bun for a great sandwich. Meatball soup is another great use. Don’t forget to add lots of parmesan cheese on top. I am sure you will enjoy these tasty morsels.

Ingredients (6-8 servings or 35 meatballs)

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup dry Italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 extra large egg, beaten
  • 2/3 cup water
  •

Directions

Sauté the onions in olive oil until translucent.  This should take approximately 5-10 minutes.  Add the garlic and cook for another minute.  (Photo A) Set the mixture aside and let cool completely.
